Give your smile a new dimension with our latest systems in tooth whitening - Zoom whitening!
About Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a common procedure in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure, and the enamel becomes less porous. Bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco can also stain teeth. Certain antibiotic medications can also cause teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel. We offer the revolutionary Laser teeth whitening system - Zoom whitening. It uses a metal halide/laser light to accelerate the process of teeth whitening in a single sitting.
You can go a few shades lighter in a matter of minutes.
For those who prefer, our dentists can also provide custom-made teeth whitening trays as part of a take-home, teeth-whitening kit. These provide a good effective booster to the bleaching cycle.
We offer multiple cycles of teeth whitening based on the individual requirement of the patient. The teeth whitening is offered at a competitive and affordable cost at our dental centre.

Frequently Asked Questions. (FAQ)
Tooth whitening is a process which lightens discolouration of enamel and dentine. At Opus Dental Specialities, we use the revolutionary Zoom Advance tooth whitening system, which brightens the teeth by multiple shades in a matter of minutes and that too chairside.
Almost everyone who would like to have a brighter and whiter smile!
Because porcelain veneers are thin and cover less of the tooth surface, they require less re-shaping of the tooth than a crown, thereby conserving more of your natural tooth structure. They are hence sometimes referred to as minimal or no preparation restorations, ‘Thinneers’.
Tooth whitening is not permanent. People who expose their teeth to staining foods and beverages can see the whiteness fade away faster. However, a repeated enhancement helps maintain the whiteness.
Composite Resin veneers over a period of time can discolor or chip and may need maintainance or periodic redoing. However, Ceramic veneers are resistant to staining and are a permanent option.
Studies of teeth whitening products using Carbamide Peroxide or Hydrogen Peroxide show little to no effect on the hardness or mineral content of a tooth’s enamel surface. The surface effect that these chemicals produce is reversed by fluoride in the saliva & regular toothpaste & mouth rinses.
Home Bleaching systems involve dispensing a gel within a prefabricated tray and wearing the same for a stipulated time. These are lower in concentration as it is used either overnight or during the day by the patient.
Zoom Bleach or Laser bleach is done at the clinic by application of a concentrated gel onto the teeth & exposing the same to Laser or a metal halide light for the release of nascent oxygen for the desired effect. The procedure is completed within 15 minutes to 1 hour.
Minor sensitivity may be experienced by the patient during the course of the procedure and sometimes, may persist for about 24 to 48 hrs after the procedure. This eventually settles down.
The cost will vary according to the number of Bleach cycles that the patient will require depending on the discolouration present.
Componeers as compared to veneers have a limited life and are indicated for a quick fix situation where a single visit to the dentist is all that is needed for a brighter and whiter smile…!
