About Dental Implant Restoration
A dental implant is a tooth "root" like device, made of titanium, and placed within the bone and used to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth. Dental Implants are the closest natural way to replace missing teeth.
Once placed within the jawbone, it is accepted and integrates with bone so that the same can be adequately loaded, to withstand the chewing forces in the mouth. Therefore the procedure of restoration of teeth using Dental Implants involves a two-stage treatment; Surgical Implant Placement, and then Restoration, using a crown, bridge or denture, after a 2-3 months period.
However, nowadays, depending on the situation, more often than not, the teeth implants can be placed immediately after tooth extraction and in some cases even immediately loaded with the crown.
Opus Dental Specialities is one of the few dental Implant clinics in the country to bring to you “Teeth in a day”, concept marketed by leading dental implant companies in the world for cases where insufficient bone is available. These compromised cases, which would otherwise need extensive surgeries & grafting procedures, are now treated conservatively & successfully by the ‘All on Four’ or ‘Fast & Fixed’ concepts. Loose mobile & decayed teeth are extracted; implants are placed and immediately loaded with a temporary restoration, all in a day! You walk out of our dental office with a full set of teeth. A final definitive prosthesis is made after 3-4 months.

Frequently Asked Questions.(FAQ)
Dental Implants are Titanium Screw Posts, which are used to replace a single, or multiple missing teeth. They replicate the tooth root in their form & function and provide the required support structure for a crown to be fitted over.
Dental implants are basically fixtures which are made of Grade 4 titanium alloy which is known to be biocompatible with the human body. There are sufficient studies to back this data.
Because porcelain veneers are thin and cover less of the tooth surface, they require less re-shaping of the tooth than a crown, thereby conserving more of your natural tooth structure. They are hence sometimes referred to as minimal or no preparation restorations, ‘Thinneers’.
Titanium is a Bio inert material & therefore once placed in bone Implants integrate to last a lifetime. Causes of an Implant failure are generally residual infection within the bone or peri-implantitis caused by inadequate oral hygiene.
Composite Resin veneers over a period of time can discolor or chip and may need maintainance or periodic redoing. However, Ceramic veneers are resistant to staining and are a permanent option.
Dental Implants are permanent fixtures replacing the missing teeth. Hence they offer better chewing efficiency compared to a denture which is instable and tends to dislodge easily. Bridges offer better chewing efficiency as compared to dentures but involves cutting down sound adjacent teeth for support. Also the life expectancy of a bridge depends on the health of the adjacent teeth.
Implant placement is a precise protocol, which involves pre planning for a seamless surgery. It therefore does not result in much post-operative discomfort or pain. Under normal circumstances the time required for implant bone integration is about 2 to 3 months, and hence are loaded only after this time period. However, in certain circumstances Implant are loaded immediately so that an provisional restoration is given instantly at the time of implant placement. When extensive treatment is needed, or in poor bone quality or grafting procedures more time i.e. 6-9 months are needed for implant integration.
Absolutely! In certain situations, where the underlying bone is adequate, it is possible to give you a temporary tooth on the same day as that of the implant surgery.
Even in cases of compromised bone condition, Opus dental specialities is one of the few dental centre’s in the country , to pioneer in the world-renowned “All on Four “, and the, “Fast and Fixed” solutions. This technology is especially designed for the Dental cripple, where excessive bone resorption has occurred. Also know as ‘Same Day Teeth’, the patient gets a mouth full of teeth immediately on the same day, thereby restoring the function & aesthetics on the same day.
The cost varies according to the number and type of implant selected. Also the type of attachment and the type of prosthesis selected over the implant. A series of investigation procedures help determine the above and determine the costs. Contact us at Opus Dental Specialities for the same.
